Obelisk memorial marking the common grave of the militiamen killed on April 19, 1775. The oldest Revolutionary War monument in the United States.

What Happened Here

Erected in 1799, this was the first public monument to American Revolution casualties. The remains of seven of the eight fallen militiamen rest beneath it (one was buried in the Old Burying Ground).
