Minuteman Statue
Monument
Bronze statue by sculptor Henry Hudson Kitson, depicting a colonial farmer leaving his plow to join the militia. Dedicated in 1900.
What Happened Here
Kitson's statue represents the ideal of the citizen-soldier rather than any specific individual. The same sculptor created the similar (but distinct) Minute Man statue at the North Bridge in Concord.
