Siege of Augusta Commemoration

Annual commemoration of the 1781 Siege of Augusta and the fall of Fort Cornwallis, the event that ended British control of Georgia's interior. Elijah Clarke Birthday & Backcountry Militia Tribute

A heritage event honoring Colonel Elijah Clarke, the fiery Georgia militia leader who led the failed 1780 assault on Augusta and later returned to help liberate the city.
