Oriskany Creek Ravine
Landmark
The ravine where the Battle of Oriskany took place, near where Oriskany Creek crosses State Route 69. The Loyalist and Iroquois ambush was positioned at a causeway over the creek bottom; the militia column was caught crossing a log bridge in the ravine. The terrain has changed somewhat but the creek and the general topography that determined the battle's character are still present.
