Battle of Valcour Island Commemoration & Lake Champlain Maritime Heritage Weekend
Crown Point State Historic Site and Lake Champlain Narrows Overlook, Crown Point, NY
An annual program commemorating the October 11, 1776 Battle of Valcour Island, in which Benedict Arnold's hastily built American fleet engaged the British on Lake Champlain. Events often include lectures on Arnold's shipbuilding efforts at Crown Point, guided tours of the historic site, and presentations on Lake Champlain's maritime archaeology. Coordinated with partners including the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.
