Jonathan Trumbull War Office

The small wooden building where Governor Jonathan Trumbull conducted Connecticut's wartime business from 1775 to 1783. Trumbull was the only colonial governor to side with the Patriots and remain in office throughout the war. He met here with Washington, Rochambeau, and Lafayette, coordinating supplies, troops, and strategy. The building still stands on the Lebanon Green, maintained by the Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution.
