East Creek Road (American Retreat Route)

The historic road through the Hubbardton area along which the retreating American army passed after the fall of Ticonderoga and along which Warner's rear guard made its stand. The road today passes through the same hill country the soldiers crossed in the summer of 1777 — a landscape of rounded Vermont hills, stone walls, and forest that has changed relatively little in character.
