Hubbardton Battlefield State Historic Site

The site of the Battle of Hubbardton on July 7, 1777 — the only Revolutionary War battle fought entirely on Vermont soil. American rear-guard forces under Colonel Seth Warner and Colonel Ebenezer Francis checked the British pursuit after Burgoyne captured Fort Ticonderoga. The battlefield is preserved largely as it was in 1777, with views of the hills across which the British advanced. A small museum and interpretive markers explain the engagement.
